Two Step Stamping!! :)

I step, you step, we all Two Step !!

Two step stamping, most of us do it without even realizing its a technique.  Any time you take one stamp to the page, then add another on top...Poof! You're a technique master!

How fun is this set?!!
(its another sneak peek from the Holiday Catalog!)
I LOVE the linen look of these stamps, and how reminiscent it is of the current set, Work of Art.

Wanna see some more Two-Step stampin?  Head on over to SSINKspiration for a peek at some sweet cards!

Come back tomorrow for a quick and easy card idea!

SSInkspiration Convention Swap Blog Hop!

#TBT Time!

Welcome to this month's SSInkspiration Blog Hop!Some of us were fortunate enough to attend Stampin' Up!'s 2014 Inspire, Create, Share convention back in July. (sadly, I was not)BUT!  I was able to share in this super fun swap that we all did with stamp sets from the 2014/2015 Idea Book & Catalog.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 1 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Darcy J, of DJ's Stampin' Place If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

Here is my swap card!

Now wait a second Donna....you already showed us this card...
hmmmmm....check out the original post here.
Well then I suppose I better show you another version to shake things up!

Okay, So I'm not gonna lie....I really like this version better!
This DSP is TO DIE FOR!!  and the silver foil stars from the July My Paper Pumpkin kit just hit the spot! (you could use whatever shape you wanted and punch them out of our silver foil sheets too!!)   This would be a great New Year's Eve invitation, or a black tie party invite.  So sassy, yet classy!

This Smoky Slate ribbon is so yummy!  has a little silver threading at the edges to give it some jazz, but its so soft and easy to work with.

Not to mention it has the same "brushed nickel" look to it that is SO Chic and 'IN' right now!   The silver foil stars just add that splash of bling without being over the top.  Can I just tell you how in love I am with silver and black!?!  YES PLEASE!!  (oooooh....and I just thought about how awesome this would be in gold for a 50th wedding party?!....better run to the craft room and WRITE THAT DOWN!)

Thanks for stopping in!  Be sure to head on over to Cynthia's page next...she has a SUPER card to show you!

Project Life - Scrapbooking that is NOT hard!

Truth Time:
Scrapbooking scares the total daylights out of me!
(um...I know what you're thinking, "wait, what did she just say?!")

Yes, the crafty Stampin' Up! lady does not even own scrapbook...

UNTIL NOW!!

Okay, so I don't own a real scrapbook...YET...but I am creating one using MyDigitalStudio and Project Life by Stampin' Up!
These two products make it SUPER easy to get my feet wet.

MDS is our digital scrapbooking software, that really is for OH so much more!  The Project Life by Stampin' Up! is a collection of super cute journaling cards, page fillers, and embellishments that are meant for quick and easy use!

Here is my page :)

aw... ain't he just the cutest thing?!

This week is our 10th Anniversary!  Oh my!!  a whole decade!

For this layout I used the

Love Story Digial Project Life Cards - Digital Download
**Best $19.95 you could ever spend!! This is only a tiny sample of what comes in this kit!**

I plan on creating an entire album to supplement the wedding album we have.  Its a great wedding memory, but lets face it, a LOT has changed in the last 10 years and I want to make a "round 2" version of our first decade together.  I am SO excited that I cannot stand it!

this digital version makes it SUPER simple to create a layout, change the shapes, colors, etc.  and when I get stuck...the journaling cards are the perfect extra embellishment all by themselves.

The best part?!  When I'm all done...I can order my new photobook RIGHT FROM MDS!!  :)

Not really feeling the black and white or the lovey dovey wedding motif?  Check out these downloads:

Think these are cute?!  There are MORE!! :)

Don't forget to check back tomorrow, you never know what I might make!

Card Sketch #SSINKCS12

I cannot tell you how excited I am that it is Monday!!
Mondays are fundays over at SSInkspirations!

I made this super fun card for today's sketch challenge #SSINKCS12

Don't you just LOVE previews from the new Holiday Catalog?!

As soon as I saw this sketch I KNEW I had to do these little cuties!
It is my take on one of my favorite children's books

"Three Little Ghosties, sitting on posties, eating burnt toasties, telling big boasties..."

The whole book is full of cute little rhymes and these little ghosties are just adorbs!

The moon was masked with a 1 inch circle of post-it note sponged over with Night of Navy, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, and Smokey Slate

I know you're shocked, but yes, I used a Sharpie and my Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities to color the pearls for the eyes and the necklace.

This is from the Fall Fest set....and YES it comes in a bundle with coordinating framelits!
Also, the paper in the background is from the Medley Monsters DSP, and the "Trick or Treat" is from the new hostess set Good Greetings.  Lots of new stuff!!

Thanks for checking in!  Come back tomorrow to see a few quick and easy cards using scraps of DSP.

Happy Anniversary to SSInkspiration!

Today we celebrate!
Our amazing design team is celebrating its first anniversary!

I can think of no better way to express how much I love being a part of such a fun and crazy group of friends than to make a card!

I cannot even express how much I love being a part of such a talented and amazing group of stampers.  They encourage me to grow in my craft and make me laugh like NON OTHER!!  :)

Blendabilities, oh how I love thee let me count the ways....  For this card I used some of our Stampin' Write markers to fill in the color gaps.  I am desperate for the rest of the colors to arrive on my doorstep!!
@SoSocial!  haha Love this stamp set!  and this Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's twine is the best!   Really pops next to the Tangelo Twist ribbon (which is also YUMMY!)
the DSP is Park Lane
Head on over to SSInkspiration and see what everyone else is up to today!  You will NOT be disappointed!
And when you're done with that, how about some more exciting news?!

Technique Tuesday ~ Stamping with an Embossing Folder

Did you know that you could stamp with an embossing folder?
Wait what?! Stamp you say?!
YES!

There are lots of different tutorials out there and many different ways to explain it.  The way I made my card was super easy!
Take an embossing folder:
(like this one!)
Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

Open the folder and lay it flat on the table.  For this sample, I used a different color on each side.
then I laid two pieces of whisper white cardstock on one side....slowly and carefully closed the folder and applied even pressure over it with my brayer.  and Viola!

Okay:  so my next step was to take the Crisp Cantaloupe inked paper and cut it to size for the background of my card.  Then I took my Mosaic Punch and punched out the Pool Party negative inked image and made my embellishment.
(notice that I used the ends to embellish my sentiment!?)
I got to use some fun stuff!  I know you're *shocked* that I used my Blendabilities to color the button and the bakers twine.

Lucky for you, the girls over at SSInkspiration are showing their take on stampin with an embossing folder!  Go check it out!

Color Challenge Time!

Phew!  I love a challenge, how 'bout you?!
SSInkspiration has a fun color combo to try out this month.  Wanna play along?!

I'm not gonna lie....I struggled with this one.  I couldn't decide what color I wanted to focus on!!

In hind sight, adding the pink and blue together makes me feel pretty 3D-ish.

I love this stamp set and this embossing folder!

Perfect Pennants #133230
Zig Zag Embossing Folder #133738

For the pennant, I took my Mossy Meadow marker and colored the middle of the stamp, then I stamped it onto my scrap sheet and then inked it with the Tempting Turquoise.  It has a marbled look to it.  LOVE it!  For the hearts, I just stamped with Strawberry Slush once with full ink, then a second time without re-inking, and again a third time.  Gives it an ombre effect which makes me happy happy happy!!!

Hope this inspired you to use color combination today!  Don't forget to head over to SSInkspiration to enter and play along in #SSINKCC12.  There are some cute incentives for you!!
