Bye Bye 2014! Hello 2015!!

Happy New Year's Eve!

I hope you have the perfect plans for tonight!  I'll be hanging out with my parents and my husband.  Can't beat that low key kind of awesome after the holiday we have had!!
(lets not ever say the word Flu again....k?!)

Its been a while since I have used my awesome sistah friends...so I thought we'd say good bye to 2014 in true Donna fashion....With my girls and my blendies!!

This was one of my favorite stamp sets in the 2014 Catalog.  I am stoked to be able to add more fashion to their wardrobe with NEW BLENDIES!!  yes...you heard me right...NEW BLENDABILITIES in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  EEK!!  as if that is not enough of a reason to celebrate today!!

This gorgeous lady was colored with the Wisteria Wonder and the *Bermuda Bay Blendies
And this is my favorite part....The Dazzling Details really make this circle embossing pop this bling look!  The wonky little 2015 was from the Skinny Mini Alphabet set,
(totally appropriate for her eh?!)

Thank you SO much for stopping by today.  Have a safe, fun, and CELEBRATORY! New Year's Eve.
DO NOT FORGET
Tomorrow we start counting down until the 2015 Occasions and the Sale-a-Bration catalog come out...
You do NOT want to miss this!!

I am so excited to be participating in the SSInkspiration Christmas Blog Hop this month!!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 6 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop -Bree @ Craft-somnia Momma.  (isn't she amazing?!!). If so, you are in the right spot! If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

Our theme this month is "Anything Goes Christmas"
I LOVE anything and everything about this!
I love that its still Christmas themed, and we're still in the holiday spirit.  And I love! that it's whatever I want!!  :)

This is my shaker card for December.  Isn't it fun!?  I used black Staz-on to stamp the image on one of Stampin' Up!'s window sheets.  LOVE LOVE!!
Then (I know you're SHOCKED!) I used the blendabilities to color the back of the window sheet (note to self:  blendabilities and Staz-on do not work well together, so that is why I colored the back)
Once you stamp on the window sheet, you can adhere the frame to the window sheet.  Then add foam strips (3M makes half-in strips that are perfect for this!) to the window sheet.  Adhere the Vanilla sheet to your card and put a little pile of sequins onto the Vanilla, THEN adhere the window frame on top.  easy peasy lemon squeezy!

I wanted the shadow box effect.  The image creates a great shadow on the Very Vanilla background.
I used our Frosted Sequins from the holiday catalog.  so sparkly!
*if you don't like the double image...just stamp on the Vanilla paper instead of the window sheet.

I love that you can use the blendabilities to color the snowflakes in the Frosted Sequins pack!

I added some Dazzling Details to the snowflakes in the DSP and also to the frame.  My intent was to make it look like ice...I hope you get that!
I love love love love! the Under the Tree DSP ... its a great mix of color and kraft paper!!  I am a huge fan of non-red/green Christmas colors...so this is so my thing!

Thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoyed my Christmas card!  Don't forget to leave some comments below, I love your feedback and suggestions on ways I can amp up my work! Then keep hopping, you're headed to a great project with Tonya!

Quick and Easy Friday!

Hello Happy Stampers!~

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you came from SSInkspiration, awesome! Glad to have you!
Didn't the girls do a GREAT job with their Quick and Easy cards...?!  If you haven't been there yet, check it out!

Here is my card...NOTHING is easier than using scraps to make a fun card !

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the October My Paper Pumpkin Kit!!!
It came with all of this stuff!!  Plus an awesome stamp set!

I loved these die cut feathers.  and I took one of the treat boxes, cut off the triangle, and made it the banner for the card.  And then I took the feathers and popped them up at different heights with dimensionals.

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Gift Card Holder

Good Morning Happy Stamper!

Grab a cup of coffee/tea/etc.. and come have a little sit with me.
I wanna show you a quick and easy way to add a gift card pocket to a card!

oh..and I know you're shocked...
I'm going to use the Perfect Blend stamp set with Gorgeous Grunge!!

also:
All Is Calm Designer Washi Tape

Ta-Da!

Gorgeous Grunge + Perfect Blend = Match made in heaven!
To make the Gift Card pocket was super simple.  The card front measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches.  Normally, to make the white layer you would make it 4 x 5.25 in order to have the 1/8in border around it.  To add the gift card pocket I made the white paper 4 x 8.25  then I scored it at 5.25 to make the 3 inch deep pocket.  I used red sticky strip tape on the right and left edges and adhered them.  Voila!

Blendabilities...oh how I love thee...let me count the ways!
I used Smoky Slate on the coffee mug....and Coastal Cabana on the lid **I used the White Color Lifter Blendabilities Marker to make the colors really light because the card base is Lost Lagoon and I didn't want it to look weird!  I absolutely CANNOT wait for Stampin' Up! to release more colors of the Blendabilities!!
Also:  on the cup's "sleeve" I used our regular Stampin' Write markers in Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake, and Pear Pizazz to make the striped design.  I love the look of corrugated cardboard, like the sleeves you get at the coffee shop!
The snowflakes are from the Frosted Sequins in the Holiday Catalog

Thanks for stopping by!
Wanna see some more gift card holders?  You'll wanna check out SSInkspiration for more ideas!  The girls have some SUPER cute ones!

Truly Grateful ~ A Stamp set focus!

Good day Happy Stamper!
Today I'm gonna show you a SUPER cute card using the stamp set Truly Grateful from Stampin' Up!

I received this card from a fabulous demo in my sideline.  Sue Fortune...I adore you!  Not only is this a STUNNING card....it beats anything I could have come up with (since I don't own this set!!)

I love love love Fall.  And this card is a perfect way to use up some paper scraps as well as showcase some of our awesome embossing folders.  Nothing is off limits with leaves!  I love how she scored the leaves, used the dots embossing folder and she added some texture to the card by rubbing the sides of the image in the Soft Suede ink.  And that pop of glimmer paper is so classy!

Okay so in all seriousness...this set is so versatile...wanna see what else you can do with it?
Head on over to SSInkspiration and see what all the fuss is about.  The girls are all using the stamp set Truly Grateful and they each have their own little twist to it.  I love how we all see things so differently!

Can we talk for a second ... I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you who are here!

Eeeeeeeeek!  I love MDS!!  This is a super quick way to make thank you cards for your friends and family.  (or you could make prints to frame!)
With MDS you can create this card, and have them printed...easy peasy lemon squeezy!
and because its a digital image, look how quick and easy you can change things!

Did you know you could rip the edges of paper in MDS?!  just right click on the paper layer and there's an option for torn edges.  Its the same way you can get rounded edges.  The best part, you can rip any and all of the 4 corners!

I hope this inspires you to create and print some great looking thank you cards.  Use them often.

Technique Tuesday! Markers and Blocks

Happy Tuesday!

Are you excited to see a fun way to use your markers today?
We're going to stamp with our markers and our clear blocks.  Wait..What?!

First Step.  Pick out any of your markers that you'd like to use.
Then grab a block that is at least as big (if not bigger!!) than the paper you will be "stamping on"
Next:  Color your block!

I colored in stripes

* wanna see something fun? *
color your block however you want...

Spritz with alcohol and watch the magic happen!!
and you get this!

How cool is that?!  i think it kind of looks like mud.  :)  love it though!

then put all the pieces together and you have a visually awesome card with minimal work!

Want to see some more?! Head on over to SSInkspiration to see what the girls are making today too!

Happy Stampin!

Did you know there were such goodies...Like Pumpkin Spice M&M's ?!!  Um yes please!!

The tag was made using the Fall Fun stamp set, and a tag leftover from the September My Paper Pumpkin kit!  There were so many cute embellishments in that kit!  And who doesn't love a good treat topper every now and again?!  And yes, those ARE pumpkin spice M&M's...and yes, I DID eat all the green ones because they didn't match my color scheme.  ;)

To Bokeh or not to Bokeh...

I am always on the hunt for different techniques and ways to make my cards unique.
Have you ever heard of Bokeh?

Websters defines it as:

bokeh

noun
a Japanese term for the subjective aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas of a photographic image
Otherwise known as:  every picture I seem to take these days.... haha

Wanna see some Bokeh in action?  Head on over to SSInkspiration for the tutorial I shared today!

All three cards were made using the Bokeh technique and the stamp set Mingle All The Way!

I LOVE the versatility of that set!  Many holidays in one set!

Christmas Cards!!

Ho Ho Ho!
Happy Merry Christmas!

I cannot WAIT to show you the cutest stamp set!
Get Your Santa On #136907

Yes!  This is by far my favorite Christmas stamp set.  I LOVE all the parts of it.  Don't you?!

Ain't he so cute?!
I got to use my new favorite embellishment:  Flocking Powder!!
Can you see how soft and fuzzy his hat and coat is?!  :)  Flocking powder is an amazingly easy way to add soft texture to a card!
And the Crystal Effects give the belt and boots some Santa Shine!

and the paper!
is from the Trim the Tree Paper Stack!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you love it as much as I do!
